Alachua County Independence Day Hours and Trash Collection

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – In addition to emergency services, all Alachua County government offices will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022, in observance of Independence Day.
Due to the Independence Day celebration on Monday, July 4, residential curbside collection services for solid waste, recycling and yard waste will be delayed one day for the entire holiday week. The regular schedule for these services will resume the following week on Monday, July 11.
The five Alachua County Rural Collection Centers, Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station, Hazardous Waste Collection Center and Garbage Collection Office will also be closed on Monday, July 4. They will reopen on Tuesday July 5th.

The Alachua County animal care and resource schedule will not be affected by the Independence Day holiday. They remind the public that an emergency water intake closure is in effect. Due to crisis level overcrowding, landlord surrenders and strays will not be accepted until further notice. The refuge and the offices will be closed on Monday, July 4 (their regular schedule).
