According to the complaint filed, Teema Inc. allegedly (a) failed to pay minimum wage, (b) failed to pay overtime, (c) failed to provide the meal and rest periods required by law, (d) failed to provide accurate detailed salary statements, (e) failed to reimburse employees for required expenses, and (f) failed to provide salaries when due, all in violation of applicable sections of the Code of enumerated in the sections of the California Labor Code §§ 201, 202, 203, 226, 226.7, 510, 512, 1194, 1197, 1197.1, 2802 and the applicable wage orders, and thus gives rise to civil penalties at the as a result of such alleged conduct.

Teema Inc. allegedly failed to reimburse employees for required business expenses. The California Labor Code § 2802 expressly states that “an employer shall compensate its employee for all necessary expenses or losses incurred by the employee as a direct result of the performance of his duties …” During employment, the applicant and other California class Members would have been required to use their personal cell phones to perform their duties.
