Etro Resort Collection 2023 | vogue
With a new creative director just named, the Etro house is gearing up for its big plan. Marco De Vincenzo takes the lead and will present his first collection in September. Meanwhile, the station was showcased by Veronica Etro during an appointment in the showroom.
Pop-up buyouts in prime beach locations have become increasingly common – and lucrative – for luxury fashion brands, and Etro is no exception. Its colorful spirit matches the upscale getaway atmosphere of Porto Cervo and Forte dei Marmi. A new boutique has just opened in Capri, and others are in preparation. The Veronica-imagined collection would be perfectly at home in any of these places, but it’s also flexible enough to be worn in more everyday situations, full of covetable and easy pieces with a distinctive flavor of cheerful bohemian.
The brand’s basics – the glamorous caftan, the kimono, the duster, the flowing dress – have been reinterpreted in a fresh and summery way. The paisley pattern has been puffed up in a vibrant abstract interpretation, printed on a long chiffon dress with butterfly sleeves, or on masculine Bermuda shorts, or even a figure-hugging number with an asymmetrical ruffled hem. Punctuating the collection with an artisan touch, a series of crocheted pieces including an elongated knit cardigan, a hand-knitted knotted fringe miniskirt and a show-stopping dress/poncho exuded the high hippie vibe that is a hallmark of the collection. ‘Etro. His free-spirited attitude will surely make the transition to Etro’s new direction.
