Latest update on garbage collection around the holiday season

Ceredigion County Council says it intends to provide garbage collections as scheduled in the weeks surrounding Christmas Day and New Years Day.

But with the effects of winter weather, COVID-19 and seasonal illnesses, he warns “it can be difficult to have all the resources you need to provide services.”

Councilor Dafydd Edwards, Cabinet Member for Highways and Environmental Services, Housing and Customer Contact, said: “As a member of Caru Ceredigion, we really appreciate the continued support and understanding from our residents if, for for some reason, the services are interrupted.

“If for some reason we are unable to collect your waste, please present it again on your next scheduled collection day.”

Updates on disruptions can be checked on the council’s WEBSITE

A statement from Ceredigion County Council added: “It has never been easier to recycle around the house.

“Remember that clean foil, cardboard, paper, and most types of plastic can all go in your clear recycling bag collected every week.

“Food waste such as vegetable peelings, turkey bones, plate scrapings, tea bags, ground coffee, and any expired food can all go in your trash.

“The Council can also help recycle your real Christmas tree to the household waste landfill or you can compost it at home.

“Household landfills will be open as usual, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. ”
