Leaf collection starts Monday in Manteca

The city of Manteca begins its annual leaf drive on Monday, November 22

Leaf collection will continue until January 13. The city’s leaf collection team will collect the leaves the day before the regular street sweeping days, which take place every two weeks in residential areas. Residents can determine the day their area is scanned by viewing the map at http://www.ci.manteca.ca.us/pwt/stdiv/streetswp.pdf.

All residents who wish to participate are asked to drop the leaves only in loose piles on the street. They are also asked to refrain from heaving leaves until the day before their scheduled leaf pickup day.

The leaves should be at least 30 cm from the gutter. The municipal teams ask you to make sure that the leaves do not obstruct the gutter and do not block the flow of rainwater. Leaves bagged in plastic will not be picked up.

Residents with smaller amounts of leaves are encouraged to place the leaves in their garden waste cart (green) for collection.

All other yard cuts such as grass clippings and tree pruning are not included in the leaf collection program. Place these items in the garden waste collection bin (green cart) or compost them in your own garden.

Anyone with questions should contact the Public Works Street Office at 209.456.8449 or by using the “Contact Us” button at the top of the City’s home page (www.ci.manteca.ca.us) and by selecting “Other (streets)” subject.
