The Waldorf Astoria Casa Marina Key West is now part of the Curio Collection

Another Waldorf Astoria hotel has decided to switch to the Curio Collection brand, which is also part of Hilton. La Quinta Resort in California made the switch last year (learn more here).

Now, Waldorf Astoria Casa Marina in Key West has begun the transition to a better-tailored Curio collection.

Note that Hilton sent to those who booked at the Waldorf Astoria:

Effective March 15, 2022; Casa Marina Key West will transition from Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts to Curio Collection by Hilton. Rest assured that the rebranding has no impact on existing bookings and services. The hotel will remain open and operational during this transition. For assistance and questions, please contact the hotel directly.

Availability of rewards:

The hotel is available for 90,000 Honors Points per night for most 2022.

Conclusion

It’s good that Hilton is moving underperforming properties from its luxury Waldorf Astoria brand to the Curio Collection, which is used for “independent” hotels and conversions.

This Waldorf Astoria in Key West was considered a borderline dump in terms of lodging quality, though the grounds are lovely. I hope the owner is willing to spend some money and renovate the rooms.
